The Marketing & Merchandising program is designed to train students in sales, marketing, and merchandising techniques. This course is offered at our Delano Center. Students learn store operation through community classroom experience. Training includes work in selling, cashiering, display, inventory control and advertising. Books used in the course deal with mathematics, marketing, psychology, and retailing. The marketing industry is a people-oriented field. Marketing is the process of determining consumer needs and then directing products, ideas, and services to meet those needs. Upon completion of the course the student is awarded with a Certificate of Completion and an Achievement Record.
Course Title: CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION

The Co-operative Education program is designed to develop or improve competencies in marketing and merchandising occupations. This course is offered at our Delano Center. Co-operative students earn and learn in businesses in the Delano, McFarland, and Wasco areas; they are supervised by the employer and the Co-operative Education instructor. The students will learn skills related to retail sales and merchandising, sales clerk, cashier checker, grocery clerk, catalog-credit clerk, and receiving. Classroom work will include the competencies needed to be successful in the retail industry and will be designed to meet the induvidual needs of each student. Upon completion of the course the student is awarded with a Certificate of Completion and an Achievement Record.
